what drag pack? they put 3.31s in stock, they want to squeze ever single extra (literally 1) mpg out of each vehicle so instead of 4.10s stock they put 3.31s
I know the manuals are 3.55s.

Iwonder why ford puts 3.73's in the auto's and 4.10's in the manuals for their drag pack? They should know their own car better than anyone else. Shouldn't they?
No ****. Like I read by an editor who wrotethis year in 5.0 or Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, that Ford should offer a 4:10 and CAI package to some GT models tomake it an affordable hot rod. To toot my horn the 4:10s make it a hot rod on the street or interstate however if I lived in Germany where the Autobahn carries no speed limit I would stick with the 3:55s or 3:73s'.

wellhow aboutquit tooting your horn and try to tell me somthing that i dont already know. And back to my question... why do you thinkFORD makes a drag pack and puts 3.73 for the auto's and 4.10's for the manuals? Do you think since they built the car maybe they know what is best?LOL

I think the automatics are always one gear size lower , why I don't know. Like when the 05s' came out the automatics were 3:31 and the sticks were 3:55s'. Just like people who have superchargers generally go with 3:73s because of traction problems.
