Shane's E-Force Install Thread
I don't know you. But I bet you'd fare better than you might think.
I assure you I have no auto mechanics talent. My complete auto wrenching experience prior to this install:
oil changes
swapping out mufflers on my Mustang (no other cars)
put in one cold air kit (must be 3-4 screws total in this)
Long-tube header install in my friend's shop with a great deal of help from him. Absolutely could not have done this without his help. Heck, this project was 60% him, 40% me.
Car stereo installation (did a lot of this in my teen years, umm...20+ years ago)
That's it. Had never changed a belt, alternator, starter, fuel pump, fuel filter, coolant flush...anything like that. Hadn't even changed spark plugs, much less fuel injectors or for goodness sakes...a freakin supercharger.
Edelbrock's instructions are very good as is support from Edelbrock, JDM, and.....your local MF'ers. Big thanks to Doug & Tim here helped me a lot.
In my opinion, the short of it is that the mustang dyno number is only good for comparing to another mustang dyno run. Same could be said about he dynojet - it only compares to other dynojet runs....which seems to be the standard everybody wants to use.
Shane... as far as your install, you had much more patience than I would have had...lucky for me, I got a good deal on the install from Tillman. They were really looking to get #004 installed and tuned.
For you though, you can be proud that you yourself did the "heavy lifting" on the install and did not rely on a shop to turn the wrenches and get the details figured-out... there is something to be said for that kind of dedication to your hobby.

Couldn't be more correct. The difference for you is you didn't baseline on that dyno, so you have nothing to compare with!
From another "self-installer", could not have said it better myself Tim!!
It rained on the way home from the dyno. Rained tuesday. Son got swine flu (not serious, just a pain). Rain today. Rain in the forecast all week.
ONE DAY I will get to play with my car.

You will hate rain more than ever now! You could try the accel coils to help with spark blow out. They are the cheapest of the aftermarket coil paks and mine have been problem free for a long time now.
MPG update. I drive 50-50 highway/city.
Bone stock: 20 mpg
CAI & tune: 19 mpg
E-Force: 18 mpg
Not bad. That's hitting boost once or twice per day. Somedays more than others. Especially days staring with F. :-)
