So something to make more power. The exhaust can only get so loud. The more power you make with a good exhaust, the louder it will be.

I wouldn't even consider touching the cats in Cali. Not worth risk in my opinion. Plus if they pull you for loud exhaust Cali loves to start poking around if they see no cats that's automatic impound plus any fines the EPA decides to levy on you. Last I checked it's about 10k in fines. Just so you know going in. Some people get away with it but my pockets aren't that deep.

You can try running long tube headers with either cats or mufflers, or remove the cats and try an aftermarket set of mufflers. But from personal experience, if you remove the cats and mufflers the car will be obnoxiously loud. I drove mine with LTs, o/r h, and muffler deletes for a month before I had to do something to quiet it down because it was so loud even inside the car.
