Exactly I try to tell people on here, (mostly people (kids) who dont know wtf they talking about or getting into) they think they buy a cobra motor, or forge the internals and run 20+ lbs of boost on a 4.6 and turn 8k rpm on damn near stock valve train and make "1000 rwhp" full time, drive the car on the street and that its going to have the reliability of a stock car. Its just ignorant stupidity, and the forums are full of it. Im not calling anybody im just speaking generally, you get some dips who watch some youtube videos who go out and buy a used 03 cobra, sell their kidney and get a blower swap, and act they have a ferrari and drive like morons... wreck and or blow the thing up and then talk about what a pos there Ford is. Anyway thats my rant. just seems to me that many if not most people on here have wildly unrealistic expectations, and get there info for company websites - making the dumbest possible decisions.

i think he mentioned a th-400. And the 8.8 will last if built correctly. A local guy to us mark larson aka fastmark (you can search you tube for his vids) has be running 950 -1010 rwhp through his built 8.8 for a couple of years now with no problems. Car runs consistent 9.2-9.3 and has dipped as low as 8.95.

while I think your right, because I have seen them hold up to. I have just recently learned of the ease in which you can switch 9" gear sets. Which for a multiple purpose car is pretty trick, not to mention it being more narrow, allowing for bigger tires, however a 10.5 will take you as fast as you want to go imo.

The problem? i don't feel like caging my car therefore i will not be running a big shot and staying around mid to high 11s.

I have plans for a Future foxbody where i will be caging my car but i want to buy a house first so that wont come for atleast 3 years, untill them being the 18 year old i am i will be content with a little 11 second car.
LMFAO! Don't we all have PLANS?? I PLAN on having a 6 sec fox too... The perfect platform, IMO, for a 500 ci engine, with maybe twin 88's??

Either way, good advice.

That's correct, I have had ****ty luck! Blew up the stock engine (non built)... Blew up another stock engine, non built again (covered under warranty amazingly, so I thought I'd give it another try. Yes I was ignorant for this)...

Third BUILT engine ended up COMING APART ON THE DYNO! Yet, according to SVTeeshirt, somehow that was MY fault...

This was my 4th engine, and it failed because of a lean condition resulting from a blown off pcv line. Sure, what a STUPID reason to blow an engine, but again, it was not from my own stupidity. Yet somehow, it's ALWAYS my fault that the engines go...

TH400 Tranny with my existing built solid, that is already on the car. Eaton True Trac Diff, Moser 31 spline axles... 3.73 Gears...

Uh, scubasteve is local to me. His car was done at the same shop that my car was built... But seriously, keep up with your ignorant comment. To me, it just sounds like your jealous of my financial stance, so you just want to attack me on HOW I get my money. Real mature, kid... Real mature. Guess what? It's NONE of your business, and I'm quite flattered you're so worried about me, lmfao!!! So stop asking me, and stop HATING on me, because I have money to blow, that you OBVIOUSLY don't have! No need to take your anger out on me. I'm happy for you, that you are working and slowly building your car, but no need to let your jealousy seep out, and get the best of you!

CARRY ON PLEASE!!

yeah i put a 9" in mine. it was a pretty easy change over from the IRS or an 8.8. Gear changes are pretty easy to do if you want to buy a secknd 3rd section. they are pretty ecpensive though about 1200 bucks or so. The one in my cars has 3.25's in it. It might be possible to just change the gears themselves but thats kind of a pita. with an extrad 3 memeber it is a fluid drain undo the drive shaft and undo the bolts that hold it in. pretty easy to do esspecially if you have access to a lift.

I might switch to a detroit locker... If that goes, then a nine inch will have to suffice, lol...
