Evolution debate ongoing.
Ya know. If you still have the 93 brenspeed tune in your SCT like I do it would be a real point breaker to do a couple of runs w/ each manufacturers tune and see. Since you changed your gears now you can't just do a run w/Fred's tune and be able to tell which is quicker. Right?
It also may be a possibility to race me from a dig sometime let's say to 70MPH a couple of times with each tune in my car. You probably have an advantage since i'm in a vert but even if I lost both races it would be interesting to see by how much with each tune. As I said, I still have both 93 octane tunes.

Actually, that's a good idea, except that the 93 tune from Brenspeed was replaced by the Evolution 93 tune. I might ask Brent to send me a 93 tune so I can test it. I just haven't played with the SCT much, don't even know how to put a new tune in. Right now I have an 87, 89 and 93 tunes. I could replace the 87 tune (since I'll never use that tune anyways) with a 93 tune from Brenspeed. I might try to play around with the SCT2 over the weekend and see how tunes can be modified and copied back, etc.
Well said Brent. As you yourself have pointed out numerous times (and as recently as this week to me wrt my clutch upgrade), if I just want peak HP on the dyno then there are certainly ways to do that.
As a VERY happy REPEAT customer of Brenspeed, I feel compelled to say that the guidance that comes in conjunction with the customer service from Brenspeed (assuming you are willing to listen to Brent and crew) is undoubtably worth any $ difference that might exist. Brent has set me straight on a couple issues which has saved me $, and from my interactions he and his company really understand customer service.
In fact Brent went out of his way just this week to call me to make sure I knew a part WOULD be delivered on time for me to do an install.
Based on the accolades, its obvious that Evolution has made its customers happy too so thats a great thing for those of us looking to get the most out of our stangs.
You may continue your mods knowing we have at least a couple of places to turn

Well my tune came today from fred @ Evo Performance, and all i can say is WOW. [sm=gears.gif] What a difference from before, can't wait to get it on a dyno.

Dyno numbers are one thing, but what really matters should be 1/4 times

I have Fred's tune in my 5speed car and had it dynoed back to back to back and made the most power on my 91 octane tune. That was kinda weird I thought. I made 3 pulls and the 93 octane tune was 1st, then 91 octane, and then 5 gallons of 100 octane Sunoco and the 100 octane tune and the car dynoed almost 2hp less than the with the 93 octane gas and 91 tune.
I was happy with the track time 8.44 @ 84.96mph in the 1/8th though
I'm aware how well Brent takes care of his customers. I've purchased everything for my car from Brenspeed. It seems this debate will never officially be ended until I get some track times, but like I said that is hard to determine unless it's a significant gain, considering track conditions have changed and so has the driver's style with more experience. I shall keep everyone posted though.
Menace, don't know if you still have the 93 tune from Brenspeed. I'm trying to get mine back, then next time I go to the track I'm just going to be doing as many passes as I can, switching between them, do one with the Evo tune and another with the Brenspeed tune. I thought about just doing three passes with the Evo tune, then switching to the Brenspeed tune and doing three more, but some might say that if the last three end up being lower that it was because the car was hot. So I'm just going to be switching back and forth between the two the whole night, that should make it even.
drbobvs,
I'm still down to meeting up with you one of these nights and going from 0 to around 70MPHs so we can compare our tunes. It can't be this weekend though, 'cause if I DO get the gears switched, they'll be too fresh to start doing that kind of stuff. Maybe next week, we just have to find a good spot with no traffic and no cops. I'll send you a PM when I'm ready to "test it"
As for going to the track, it's probably going to be May 3rd of the 10th (Wednesdays), the 3rd might be too soon though. That's going to be at the track in Englishtown New Jersey (http://www.etownraceway.com/). I'll leave from West Babylon at around 3PM-3:30PM, the track opens at 5PM. Don't know if they'll let me have my camera mounted to the passenger headrest, I'll try though and get some videos.

Sounds good. Weather permitting I'll be at Oakdale thurs night. I'll also try to get to Robert Moses this Sun and/or next Sun.
I'm usually off on Wednesdays, so I'll try to make Englishtown with ya.
