In all it's up to the buyer which tuner they want to go with. Though now I have had my eyes opened up... You can't beat Evolution's prices, nor performance.
tuner: 350
dyno tune: 250, including 5 runs
total price:600 out the door

-or-

tuner+ prefab tune from evo or anyone for the matter: ~450
3 pulls on a dyno at the average quality shop: 75

maybe its just me, but if there are more mods than just the intake, i would gladly spend 75 more for the customizeability. that said, bamachips/evolution/brenspeed provide awesome tunes and above awesome customer service, which are both very nice together

Some of the canned tunes like Brenspeed, Evolution, and Bamachips can simply upgrade your tune for whatever part you add on. Considering I have only the Intake, Tune, and O/R H-pipe and I'm my peak RWHP is 300... I'd say that is pretty good. (All I need now is some back pressure and should gain a little more.) Though that said... What does a stock GT Dyno at? I'm not sure how much of a gain I would get with a 'Custom Dyno Tune' Right now I'm happy with my 300RWHP, hopefully more when I get those resonator's put on.

It can be done, I made 306 rwhp 325 rwtq with Pred. tune, CAI(C&L), pullies, off road x-pipe, and 4.10 rear gear. Good #'s, great job Menace and Fred. A good dyno tune can help a little. A/F was 12.1

Fred, why is your tune alone so much more expensive?
You need to profit to stay in business! Why should I give away my tune for next to nothing to someone that bought their products (XCalibrator 2/CAI) from another business, which profited from the sale!

I’ve compiled over 30 hours on the dyno and over 200 runs at the track developing this tune using MY car! The people that buy from me get the very best tune I have to offer and the lowest prices on all products I carry! I don’t have any customers, just friends, that's what I consider everyone that deals with Evolution Performance!
Easy there killer. I just asked a question. Don't take it so personally. Where are you located Fred?

Hello Everyone,

I have been following this thread with great interest. Needless to say I'm going to dump the Predator and go with Fred at Evolution.

I went to his website and could'nt find an email address. If someone has it please be kind enough to post it.
I will also need his fax number so that I can fax my last pull to him for evaluation.

I've gone through 12 pulls on the dyno-jet and I'm not satisfied with the results using the Predator.

I'm going with Fred because he has an auto GT and based on prior thread comments provides excellent customer service.

After I purchase the SCT and the C&L 93 Octane tune from Fred, I'll go up to the shop and put her on the dyno again.

I'm really looking forward to Freds approach with cam timing and automatic transmission mods. This shoud prove to be very interesting.

Like some of you have said, "I dont mind spending the money as long as I can see some value".

Menace and the rest thanks for the great post. I wish I would have gotten this information months ago.

I'll be taking to you Fred.

Live and learn
